If you watched last season's Food Revolution, you must be as excited as I am to see it return this year. For those of you who haven't, check it out. Jamie Oliver is a Food Network icon with a number of shows and books under his belt. He is responsible for a movement in the UK to improve the quality and nutritional content of meals within the national school system.
Last season, he tackled 'the unhealthiest city in America' in Huntington, West Virginia. It was amazing to see the resistance he received in his attempt to transform the school cafeteria from a sugar-laden, processed food junkyard (slight exaggeration) to providing healthy, wholesome school lunch options. In the end, the city acquiesced and the community supported Jamie's heart-felt efforts.
Season 2 brings us to Los Angeles where he is turned away by the L.A. Unified School District. He gets creative in his attempts to affect the community and change the way they think about food, and how they eat.
It will motivate you and get you thinking...and maybe even cooking!
Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution premieres on ABC, April 12th at 8pm est. Enjoy!
